The Mind Research Foundation is dedicated to transforming children’s lives by providing vital social and emotional learning programs. At the heart of the movement are our signature evidence-based programs aimed on generating more mindful, optimistic, focused, and resilient children. Backed by science our programs are developed through the unique integration of neuroscience, positive psychology, mindful awareness, and social and emotional learning.

Children / Students are at the center of our focus at The Foundation and we feel passionately about the limitless potential of their brain; while seeing first-hand the positive impact of a “thought-centric” approach towards mind training interventions for students. Neuro-based positive psychology strategies are proven to help students increase self-regulation, build engagement through strength, improve relationships, assign meaning, scaffold accomplishment, and most importantly reduce stress. Positive Mental Health Education in the educational environments enables the learner to engage better in established curricula. In addition, knowledge and skills to develop their own and others’ well-being allow youth to flourish, lead purposeful lives, and contribute to society as virtuous citizens.

Schools/ colleges are now seen as institutions whose role extends beyond academic competence in preparing the whole child. Positive Education can inform and affect all levels of education including students, teachers, staff, parents, the whole school, and the community. It can also play a crucial preventative role in reducing the growing yet often blanketed Behavioral Health concerns amidst students like aggression, lack of concentration, body-image issues, learning issues social-media strain, depression, anxiety and stress within the school environment.

ThriWIN™

The Program has been created using our amassed comprehension of the human brain in order to create an innovative, simple and  structured intervention to foster happier and more resilient children.  It will help children acquire vital social and emotional learning skills that link cognitive neuroscience, positive psychology, and mindful awareness with a primary focus on developing an understanding of their Own Brain and The power of their Own Thoughts.

The objective behind the program is not just promoting better learning and well-being in children, but to “give children life tools” that will remain with them forever.

What is it?

 ThriWIN™ is created to promote the mental well-being of children and create a positive impact on them in their formative years of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral development.  ThriWIN™ is a curriculum consisting of information relating to mental health, signs, and symptoms of distress, how to deal with distress, and when to reach out to a teacher, parent, or professionals. It is organized in a student-friendly manner so that students grasp it easily.

Why the program?

This program is created to equip students with the right skills to deal with their own problems and concerns. Most of the mental health issues that are developed in adults can be traced back to the kind of childhood the individual leads. Research indicates that half of all mental health disorders in adulthood start by the age of 14, but most cases go undetected and untreated (World Health Organization, 2022).

Why students? How are they benefited?

Schools are an ideal setting to promote mental health for children and the youth. School Mental Health Program (SMHP) has proven efficacy in the holistic growth of children. It strengthens abilities, such as resilience, interpersonal skills, and stress tolerance, that are needed for the overall growth of children (Weist, Kutcher &; Wei, 2015). Awareness of children can help reduce mental health problems in the future. It can help make children more empathetic to their peers and help in the destigmatization of mental illness.

What makes ThriWIN stand out

ThriWIN™ can be delivered as Single  Topic Based Sessions in a one to one format or  can be accessed as an On-Line Curriculum via the Academic Institution’s Intranet. The program can be customized to a Self-Learning / Self- Paced mode which student’s can  access via the comfort of their homes and in their own time.

In order to fulfill the same, we start the program by making the child understand about ‘Brain Basics” and how they are connected to the feelings, thoughts, biological reactions, and behaviors; followed by talking about Neuroplasticity. This gives the child the understanding that he has a choice in how he feels, thinks, and behaves.
